Echocardiography, MR Cine, and MR Angiography. In younger subjects with faster heart rates, a short axis MR Cine sequence with slices parallel to the plane of the AV valves is used for spatial registration and MR Angiography is used for heart modelling. Panel A shows the mitral valve segmented from echocardiographic data (yellow). Panel A also shows the resulting 3D Objects representing the valve (yellow) and single slice (tan) for fiducial selection. Panel B shows a second Mimics session containing MR Cine data. The valve and single slice 3D Objects have been copied into this Mimics session and are shown before (yellow) and after (red) spatial registration. Panel C shows a third Mimics session containing MR Angiography data segmented into the blood pool (pink) with the resulting heart model (white). Since the MR Cine and MR Angiography data sets share a common coordinate system, the valve 3D Object (red) can be copied from the previous Mimics session and is appropriately positioned.
