Echocardiography and Fast3D. In older subjects with slower heart rates, the Fast3D sequence is adequate both for creation of a heart model and for spatial registration. Panel A shows segmentation of the mitral and aortic valves from echocardiographic data (purple). Panel A also shows the resulting 3D Objects representing the valves (red) and single slice (tan) for fiducial selection. Panel B shows a second Mimics session containing the blood pool segmented from Fast3D data (purple). Panel B also shows the resulting 3D Object representing the heart (white). The valve and single slice 3D Objects have been copied into the Mimics session shown in Panel B but are not yet spatially registered. Panel C shows models of the heart (white) and valves (red) after spatial registration.
